The first quarter is an overview of twelve disciplines, each quarter following takes you deeper into each one. The needed change within us is God's work, not ours. The Disciplines allow us to place ourselves before God so that he can change us. You decide how much time, how far you go, and who goes with you. It's just easier to move together for accountability and strength.

Meditation Topic for the week

When meditating there is a fear of spiritual influences that are not of God. It's a good fear to have but fear does not need to paralyze us. Pray this simple prayer of protection: "I surround myself with the light of Christ. I cover myself with his blood, and I seal myself with his cross."

Second thought I have today is to have a sticky note with a pencil near by so that when my mind wanders I can simply write down what comes that is not part of my meditation as a "To Do" list for later. It's out of my head to be attended to later.
