2009 Begins our reading of the Word all the way through using SOAP (Scripture, Observation, Application and Prayer).  Classes from the book, The Divine Mentor by Wayne Corderio are periodically offered to join with a group if you wish. Check the calendar for the schedule and location.

Join with us this year as we are mentored by the Creator Himself.  We are using the book, The Divine Mentor by Wayne Cordeiro.  Go get it or order it from here, and join in the readling/mentoring as you will be taught there.  After you hear from the Lord, share with us here so that we can grow more.  The selection you find here today is from Psalm 12 with a note from Eugene Peterson in Run With The Horses.  Read and respond.

Over the years I have learned many disciplines that have helped me grow spiritually.  I want to really know God as the Bible says is possible.  So I would listen to people and how they were doing or how they learned to have intimacy with God and then go try it myself to see if it worked.  Of all, I find that the most effective, personal, works every time, is to simply pray before I read my scripture for the day, “God show me what you are saying here.”  Then I read until something catches my eye or catches my interest in some way.  Then stop, write it down and continue to write what comes to mind.  In this case writing the ...
